Brighton Pride, 2 – 3 August 2014

Please note the following alterations to Brighton area services in connection with Pride events taking place around the city.

37B Bristol Estate – Brighton – Meadowview

From Bristol Estate, journeys at 10.45 and 11.45 will be diverted from Upper St James’ Street to operate via Upper Rock Gardens, Egremont Place and Queens Park Road. During this time, buses will not be able to serve Brighton City Centre or station. Please note that buses will wait time at Queens Park Road, Pepper Pot in order to follow the normal schedule from here to Meadowview.

Journeys at 12.45 and 13.45 will be diverted after Gloucester Place via the east side of St Peter’s Church (Richmond Place, Waterloo Place, Lewes Road) to Southover Street, then as normal route.

Journeys at 14.50, 15.50, and 16.50 will run as normal.

The 18.00 journey will divert via Upper Rock Gardens, Edward Street and Old Steine due to Marine Parade being closed for a street party.

From Meadowview, journeys at 09.50, 10.50 and 11.50 will be diverted to continue along Queens Park Road, then Egremont Place and Upper Rock Gardens to Upper St James’ Street. During this time, buses will not be able to serve Brighton station or City Centre. Please note that the bus will wait time at Kemp Town, Rock Gardens in order to follow the normal schedule from Kemp Town Shops to Bristol Estate.

Journeys at 12.50 and 13.50 will be diverted after Southover Street via Richmond Terrace, Waterloo Place, Richmond Place, St Peter’s Place, York Place, St George’s Place, Gloucester Place, Grand Parade, Pavilion Parade, Castle Square, North Street, Queens Road, Upper Gloucester Road, Surrey Street, Junction Road, then as normal route.

The 14.50 journey will run as normal.

The 16.00, 17.00 and 18.00 journeys will divert via Old Steine, Edward Street and Upper Rock Gardens due to St James’ Street being closed for a street party.

47/57 (Benfield Valley) – Brighton – East Saltdean

From East Saltdean

Service 47 journeys at 10.23 and 11.23 will terminate at Kemp Town Shops. During this time, buses will not be able to serve Brighton City Centre or station.

From Brighton, service 47 journeys at 10.41, 11.41 and 12.41 will only operate from Kemp Town Shops. During this time, buses will not be able to serve Brighton station or City Centre.

Service 47 journeys should return to their normal route with the 12.23 journey from East Saltdean and the 13.41 journey from Brighton Station.

However, please also note that the service 47 journeys at 17.28 from East Saltdean and 16.46, 17.46 and 18.46 from Brighton Station will be diverted via Old Steine, Edward Street and Upper Rock Gardens due to a street party on St James’ Street/Marine Parade.

All day on Sunday 03 August, the service 57 from Knoll Estate/Brighton Station will be diverted via Old Steine, Edward Street and Upper Rock Gardens due to a street party on St James’ Street/Marine Parade. Journeys from East Saltdean are unaffected.

56 Knoll Estate – Brighton – Patcham

From Patcham, journeys at 09.24, 10.28, 11.28 and 12.28 will terminate at Fiveways, Stanford Avenue.

A separate service will operate from Brighton Churchill Square, Imperial Arcade (departing 10.14, 11.14, 12.14 and 13.14) to Knoll Estate.

The journey from Patcham at 13.28 will run throughout, but will be diverted at Fiveways to continue along Ditchling Road to St Peter’s Place.

From Knoll Estate, journeys at 09.30, 10.30, 11.30 and 12.30 will be diverted after Seven Dials via Buckingham Place, Terminus Road, Queens Road and North Street to terminate at Brighton Churchill Square, Imperial Arcade.

A separate service will operate from Fiveways, Ditchling Road (departing at 10.01, 11.01, 12.01 and 13.01) to Patcham.

The journey from Knoll Estate at 13.30 will operate throughout, but will be diverted after Gloucester Place via Richmond Place, Waterloo Place, Richmond Terrace, Union Road and Ditchling Road before following the normal route from Fiveways.

Buses should then return to their normal route with the 14.28 journey from Patcham and the 14.30 journey from Knoll Estate.
