Discounts for Students in West Sussex

Posted on Posted in News

Following confirmation by West Sussex County Council that the 3in1 scheme that gives students discounted travel on bus services will be withdrawn at the end of December 2016 Compass Travel is introducing new Student Fares for 16-19 year olds in full time education.

From 1st January 2017 the new Student Fares will give students aged between 16 and 19 who are in full time education a discount of 25% off the full adult fare. The discount will be available on Single, Return and Weekly tickets on production of valid id, tickets may be used for both journeys to or from School/College or Leisure travel.

One of the following forms of ID is required:

  • The West Sussex 3-in-1 card – providing it is still in date
  • A valid 16-17 years Citizencard
  • A valid Sussex Student Card

Without one of these forms of ID the full adult fare must be paid by those aged 16 and over.

Children aged between 5 and 15 travel at half the adult fare.

Details of how to get a Sussex Student Card can be obtained from your School or College or from the West Sussex County Council website.

Existing arrangements in East Sussex, Brighton and Surrey remain unchanged.
