The following update has been provided by East Sussex County Council in respect of services previously operated by Seaford & District.

Seaford & District have made the decision to withdraw from running daytime bus services. Information about replacement  services is now available:

125 Lewes-Glynde-Firle-Alfriston-Wilmington-Eastbourne

The current timetable to run until the end of March, with Compass Travel operating the service from mid February.

A new more limited timetable will be run by Compass Travel from 3 April, though still operating on Mondays to Fridays (except public holidays). Buses will depart from Lewes at 09:10 and 12:30, arriving in Eastbourne at 10:11 and 13:24. Schooldays route 424 provides a journey at 15:15 from Lewes to Alfriston. On non-schooldays there will also be a journey from Lewes at 15:30 to Alfriston. Buses will depart from Eastbourne at 10:20 and 13:30, arriving in Lewes at 11:13 and 14:29.

Wannock will not be served (route 143 offers some alternative journeys). The Saturday 125 service, provided by Cuckmere Buses, is unchanged.

228/229 Crowborough-Jarvis Brook-Eridge-Tunbridge Wells

The current timetable will continue until 30 July, with Compass Travel running the service. This has been arranged by East Sussex County Council and Kent County Council, so as to give more time for service use and revenue to improve in an attempt to avoid the service being reduced.

Compass Travel now provide this service to an unchanged timetable.
