Bus Service Changes

Changes have occurred to most services in East Sussex and some services in West Sussex and Surrey from 24 July 2023.

New timetables can be downloaded by clicking here, or our full timetable booklet is available through the post by contacting us.

East Sussex

119/120 – Timetable change to service 119 to include an extra afternoon journey, no change to service 120.

121 – Improved Monday to Saturday hourly frequency. Saturday frequency improved and new 2 hourly Sunday service.

122 – Timetable changes.

123 – Timetable changes, also new Sunday service.

124 – Service replaced by 122 and 166 on Saturdays.

125 – Timetable changes and will additionally operate via Lewes Tesco and Ringmer (Harrisons Lane) in both directions.

126 – No changes have been made to this service.

127 – Timetable changes.

128 – Frequency improved to 30 mins for most of the day in place of service 129 in Nevill. Tesco will be served hourly.

129 – Will be operated by CTLA Community Transport – click here.

143 – This service will no longer operate, but please see service 125 above for Lewes <> Ringmer (Harrisons Lane) service.  Brighton and Hove buses will run between Lewes and Hailsham – click here.

145 – Timetable changes.

166 – Timetable changes and will operate two hourly on Saturdays.

167/168 – Timetable changes and operates an extra day a week, part demand response.  To book at a ‘bookable’ stop please ring 01273 078203.

228/229 – Timetable changes and now just numbered 228, most journeys just operate in Crowborough, with connections to Brighton and Hove buses for services to Tunbridge Wells.

231 – Revised to provide a more frequent service between Etchingham and Heathfield, also serving Bateman’s, instead of to/from Uckfield. New service on Saturdays. See Brighton & Hove Buses’ new route 29A for replacement service linking Heathfield, Blackboys, Uckfield, Lewes and Brighton.  231 will also serve Strand Meadow and Batemans National Trust on a demand response bookable service.  To book at a ‘bookable’ stop please ring 01273 078203.

261 – All journeys will avoid Coleman’s Hatch so as to provide a faster more direct route. New evening peak journeys plus new Saturday service.  Those requiring Coleman’s Hatch Road will have the pre-booked FlexiBus service as a replacement option, more info at: East Sussex County Council Flexibus website

492/493 – Seahaven Academy – East Sussex County Council are currently considering options for a replacement service due to a change in the school hours.  These services are no longer operated by Compass Travel.

New services in East Sussex:

225 – Saturday service – Heathfield to Rushlake Green via Punnetts Town.

227 – Five Ashes to Crowborough.

331 – Hurst Green to Heathfield Community College and Uckfield, this service will operate on the same route and times, but will change service number to 231 instead.

468 – Ditchling to Chailey via Plumpton.

 

West Sussex

66A – Slight timetable change to the 14:35 departure – will now run ten minutes later throughout.

85/85A – Slight timetable changes.

99/99 Flex – New improved service and better booking system, including opportunity to travel to more places with new service ’99 Flex’ – main 99 timetable remains the same. Click here for more information.

100 – Slight timetable changes.

107 – PM timetable change to reflect new school times.

 

Surrey

18 – Slight timetable changes, will now serve Kingfisher Drive and Harewood Road in Merrow.

32 – Slight timetable changes, will no longer serve Holmbury St. Mary or Abinger Common.  Service now has brand new buses which are better for the environment, more comfortable, USB chargers to every seat, next stop audio/visual information and free WiFi.

42 – Timetable changes, will no longer serve Loxwood, Ifold or Plaistow due to low passenger numbers. No change to Saturday service.
